Davie's summer has always been the season where things slow down. University Drive lunch crowds thin, the rodeo grounds go dark between spring and fall, and the calendar quietly hands itself back to the horses. This year is the first one in a while where that isn't true.
Between August 1 and September 15, the town runs its first coordinated dining program, a food truck that's been on the road since 2011 opens the door of its first restaurant, a golf simulator lounge lands above a pizza place on South University, and the Weekley Brothers put a September rodeo night back on the calendar. The Savor Davie Math
The Town of Davie is running its first-ever prix-fixe program from August 1 through September 15, and the design tells you what the town is trying to do. Savor Davie invites residents and visitors to experience Davie's diverse culinary environment during the Town's first dining program, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy specially priced three-course meals at eight participating restaurants. The Town's own program page currently lists seven confirmed menus, and for Savor Davie, eight participating restaurants are offering promotional menus from August 1 through September 15, 2026, with three-course meals at $35, $45 or $60.
Three tiers, seven kitchens, six weeks. Here is what actually signed up:

Geronimos Grill offers a three-course prix-fixe meal for $35, Black Jack's Rum Bar & Grille a $45 three-course meal, The Greek Joint Kitchen & Bar $45, Ovivi's $45, Palace Indian $45, and Pho Bar $45. Three of those seven kitchens sit within a five-minute drive of each other on South University Drive, which is what turns a discount menu into an actual program you can walk between on a Thursday.
The tier that matters is the $35 tier. A three-course dinner at that price point almost never appears in Broward's more marketed dining months. Dine Out Lauderdale in 2026 runs August 1 through September 30 with more than 130 restaurants, and restaurants offer fixed-price menus typically priced at about $35 for lunch and $45, $60 and $75 for dinner. In other words, Geronimos is holding a Broward lunch price for a full three-course dinner. That is the pitch a resident who already knows the room can act on.
Monster Burgers Finally Has An Address
Sharing the August 1 launch date is a business locals have followed on wheels for well over a decade. After spending more than a decade building a loyal following at festivals, breweries, and food truck events, Julio and Diana are opening their first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Davie on August 1, 2026. The address is 2325 S. University Drive, which puts it a short drive from four of the Savor Davie participants.
The food is what the truck was known for. Monster Burgers brings its popular Colombian burgers, Monster Dogs and Monster Fries from its food truck to a new restaurant in Davie, Florida. The menu holds the two dishes long-time truck customers ask for by name. Monster Fries combine french fries, fried yellow potatoes, sliced sausages and plenty of Monster Sauces into one of the restaurant's signature shareable dishes. The Maicito is the one to keep an eye on. If it's available, don't skip the Maicito, a Colombian street food favorite that combines sweet corn, mozzarella cheese, crushed potato chips, pineapple sauce and cream sauce, with optional chicken or bacon.
The room itself carries the truck's identity forward. The new Davie restaurant keeps the colorful personality that made the food truck stand out, with bright green walls, cartoon monster artwork, and an open kitchen that create a fun atmosphere that's especially popular with families. If you have kids in the Davie school orbit who spotted the truck at a festival five years ago and never forgot the artwork, they will find the same one on South University now.
A Golf Simulator Above A Pizza Place
Two miles south, a different kind of opening is filling in the gap between dinner and drive-home hours. Golf Vault, a new golf simulator lounge from Chris Flores and Gil Martin, is opening at 4900 S. University Drive, Suite 205 in Davie, and the locally owned concept combines golf simulators, lounge seating, food and drinks, and event space in a roughly 4,000-square-foot second-floor location above Pinza 104.
The location is the interesting part. Davie has plenty of golf inventory to its west, and no shortage of casual dinner rooms along University. What it has lacked is the kind of after-dinner room that gives a group somewhere to go at 9:30 on a Wednesday without a 20-minute drive to Fort Lauderdale. A simulator lounge above an existing pizza restaurant is exactly that room. It also gives the Savor Davie diners a natural second stop when the $45 tasting is done.
The One Night That Frames The Rest
The other date to hold on the calendar is a rodeo Friday. Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo runs at Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, and the current schedule lists performances on June 20, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., September 12, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., November 13 and 14, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., and November 15, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The September 12 date is the one that matters this summer because it lands during the closing days of Savor Davie. Dinner in one of the participating rooms and a 7:30 p.m. rodeo call at Bergeron is a night you can build without leaving a five-mile radius.
For anyone new to the arena, the venue has been the town's main draw for four decades. For more than 40 years, the Davie Arena at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, located in the historical western theme downtown district, has served as Davie's main tourist attraction, and while it was originally established as a rodeo arena, the arena expanded to accommodate concerts, horse shows, dog shows, car shows, air boat shows, and specialty shows. September's PRCA night is the last one before the November championship weekend, when contestants compete for over $250,000 in Money and Prizes at what is billed as the largest championship rodeo east of the Mississippi River.
How To Actually Use The Next Six Weeks
If you live here, the practical read of all this is fairly simple:
- Pick your Savor Davie visit early. The seven kitchens sit on South University, S. Pine Island, and the Hollywood side; three-course seats at these prices generally fill fastest in the first ten days of any program like this.
- Try the $35 tier at Geronimos before the $45s. It's the biggest gap between listed price and a normal dinner check in town.
- Put Monster Burgers on the family list for the first weekend of the month rather than opening day. The kitchen is new even if the recipes aren't.
- If you have out-of-town guests coming through the second weekend of September, hold the rodeo tickets for Friday the 12th and pick a Savor Davie table before the 7:30 call. The program ends three days later.
- Save Golf Vault for a slower Wednesday. It's the room the town has been quietly missing.
